Federation University Australia, Berwick Campus, is a campus located in Berwick in Australia. It is part of Federation University Australia in Victoria. It offers degrees in Business and Commerce as well as Criminal Justice, Nursing, and Education.
It is located in the City of Casey which is one of Australia’s fastest-growing areas. The Campus has approximately 2000 students. In 1996, the campus was opened. It was small in comparison to other campuses and covered only 55 hectares. To meet the increasing demand from international students and local students, a student accommodation building was built in 2006. Over the years, many faculties have left campus. The majority of students are now enrolled in the School of Nursing and Healthcare Professions.
On 29 April 2006, the campus, also known as Monash University Berwick, celebrated its 10th birthday.
Monash announced on 7 March 2016 that the Berwick campus would close by 2018. After receiving approvals from the government, it was announced on 15 July 2016 that Federation University Australia would assume responsibility for the Berwick Campus. As a campus under Federation University Australia, this officially began on the 1st of January 2018.
The Princes Freeway exit ramp at Clyde Road is located next to the campus. From the Melbourne CBD, it takes approximately 45 minutes to get to the campus. Students and staff can park in permit parking. Infrequent drivers can also use coin-operated daily ticket storage.
It is just seven minutes walk from the campus to the Berwick train station. The Pakenham line is located at the campus. Trains run every 30 minutes from and to the Melbourne CBD.
The official student union on campus at Berwick is the Monash Union of Berwick Students. Commonly abbreviated as MUBS. MUBS organize events throughout the year. These include free weekly breakfasts and lunches as well as educational courses, exam-buster seminars, advocacy for student rights, and coordination of social events on campus.
