Daiso was founded around 1972, in Japan when Mr. Hirotake Yano launched his first vending stand on the street selling 100YEN products. He later created Daiso in 1977, and it has grown to include over 5500 stores around the world today. Daiso came to Australia in 2010and the first store was inaugurated at Richmond Victoria, it has been a hit with the Australian customer from that time and that interest continues to grow. By 2021, the company has expanded to 44 stores across five states, with fifteen stores located in Queensland and 13 shops within New South Wales, 12 stores in Victoria and 3 shops located in South Australia and 1 store in Western Australia.
